Client Login Features for Time Doctor Account Owners

TL;DR

Enable the Client module and configure either a Time Doctor subdomain or a white-labeled domain to allow clients to log in and view assigned project data. Add clients via the Settings / Clients page, assign them access to specific projects and users, and provide their login credentials.

Time Doctor allows company clients to log in and view the progress of their assigned projects in real time. This feature enables transparency and accountability for external stakeholders.

Enable the Client Login Feature

  1. Go to Settings / Company Settings.

  2. Toggle the Client module to ON.

Access the Clients Page

  • Navigate to Settings / Clients from the Time Doctor web dashboard.

Choose a Domain for Client Logins

  1. Select either a standard Time Doctor URL or a white-labeled domain.

  2. For white-labeled domain setup instructions, refer to this article.

  3. If using a standard Time Doctor subdomain:

  4. Enter the desired subdomain in the Your Time Doctor Subdomain field.

  5. Click Save.

Add a New Client

  1. Click Add Client.

  2. Enter the client's name, email address, and password (create this password to share with the client).

  3. Click Save.

Assign Projects and Users

  1. The client will appear under the domain name settings.

  2. Click Manage Projects under the Manage Projects or Users column.

  3. Select the projects and users to grant client oversight access.

By default, new clients have no access to any projects. Manually assign the necessary permissions.

  1. Send clients an email containing the login URL, their email address, and the password.

  2. Note: The actual login URL will differ from the one shown in any sample screenshots.
